Leisure time activities

ESTIA has been running a program since 1985 which is called Leisure Time Club. Our service users had the chance to meet and participate in various activities such as sports, theatre, arts etc. Later, the Club was named ‘Peripatos’ and now this club has a more person centred approach. We are proud to be the first who valued the necessity of leisure time designed to serve the needs of each person and in 2002 we organised a European Conference about Leisure Time for people with intellectual disability. ESTIA awarded for quality practice and innovation. Every year ESTIA is planning summer holidays for its service users in Greece and so far we have visited more than thirty destinations. ESTIA also promotes the necessity of protecting the environment and we volunteered to clean our forests and beaches from litter.
